#0029 Social Hierarchy as a Thing
The thing about this podcast episode is they mention 'social hierarchy' AS A THING.
And the moment I hear them use this term to describe an aspect of human existence, I want to know all about it.
The speaker had this concept in their head before they said this term aloud on this podcast at the 43m:50s mark.
And so but what does it mean?
What is the definition of social hierarchy?
What is it comprised of?
What is the scope?
Who is involved in it?
How many stuff are involved?
How does it apply to me?
How did this persons on this podcast learn about it until this moment?
Did this persons who mentioned this learn of it all by their own discernment?
Did anyone write/define / research about this?
Is this something trained psychologists talk about? And if so, what do psychologists say about this?
Is this what anthropology is about? Years ago I had used to think anthropology, defined to me simplistically at the time as the study of humans, sounded silly since we are all humans and so we are all studying each other all day anyway. Time to give this another look.
so many questions.

'...social circle ... my phone is like my shield ...no matter what device you have... there's still going to be social hierarchy...they all care about their snap streaks and their this and their that...'
On this podcast they are just chatting and throwing around informal casual ideas. Not a formal nor deep study, not academic study here.
And just because word association and meditation, not related to the podcast. I recall in recent years I myself read 'Annihilation of Caste' book, therein are described examples of more formal structures that could also be descibed using the words social hierarchy.
And then more topic idea association. More modern american hollywood films such as "Mean Girls" and dozens more, are dealing with ideas could also be called by the words social hierarchy. So it's not fair really to use those words to only describe one hierarchy in society.
Whereas, isn't it that the more one thinks about it, in human societies there is seemingly an infinite number of layers of social hierarchies?
